Our front yard is filled with lavender, and at this time of year all the plants are alive with bees. The rich shades of purple are irresistible to insect and artist alike.
This is an original, limited edition linocut block print, carved on traditional gray linoleum. The prints were pulled by hand in 8 separate color layers using Cranfield traditional oil-based relief inks on Rives BFK (250gsm) printmaking paper.
LIMITED EDITION of 17
This artwork was created using the reduction method of printmaking. In contrast to work that relies on multiple blocks to print each separate color, this process uses a single block of linoleum. The block is carved away as each color is printed; it is thereby destroyed (i.e., reduced) in the process and cannot be reused. All prints made in this way are, therefore, limited editions.
Artwork is sold unframed and unmounted so that you can choose how to display the work. Each print is titled, signed, and (in the case of limited editions) numbered in pencil below the image.
Prints are packed securely for shipment, protected by rigid cardboard and enclosed in a protective sleeve. Larger prints may be rolled and shipped in a sturdy cardboard mailing tube. Each order will be processed and shipped within 3-5 days of receipt. Items are shipped USPS First Class. Shipping is FREE to anywhere in the US.
Please remember: this is not a digital reproduction. This is a handmade print, which means it is delightfully unique! There will be slight variations between prints in a series, and between the image shown on my website and the print that arrives in your mailbox. This is, of course, part of the charm of original handmade artwork. However, in the event that you are not perfectly happy with this work, I will accept returns. Just contact me within 14 days of delivery and ship the item back within 30 days of delivery.
